With the rise of horrific crimes by ISIS, and the Charlie Hebdo massacre, Islamophobia is on the rise. The Blind Trust Project has made a video in response to the hate crimes against Muslims: the video was an idea of 24 year old Assma Galuta. The result is thought provoking. to say the least.
” I am a Muslim, I am labelled as a terrorist. I trust you, do you trust me?”
This is the message written at Mustafa Mawla’s feet. He was subject of a social experiment in the centre of Toronto, Canada. With a blindfold and open arms, he asked people to hug him.
The labelling of any human being is wrong, we believe that governments should include anti Islamophobia when writing their agendas against terrorism. Approximately 23% of the world’s population is Muslim, many Muslims suffer under oppressive regimes and do not feel represented by acts of terrorism, abuse to human rights (such as those happening in Saudi Arabia) and often are persecuted and killed in their own country just for speaking their minds.
